THE GROUP

More Than Music. More Than Ministry. A Legacy of Harmony.

For more than three decades, Soul Tempo has inspired audiences with powerful harmonies, heartfelt performances, and an unwavering message of faith, hope, and perseverance.

Hailing from New Haven, Connecticut, the acclaimed gospel quartet was founded by lifelong friends Jerry Brunson, the late Tony Burnett, and brothers Kevin and Phillip Mitchell, whose extraordinary vocal blend and genuine love for ministry established the signature sound that continues to define Soul Tempo today. While Tony's passing left an immeasurable void, his spirit, legacy, and contribution to the group's ministry remain an enduring part of every performance.

Their national breakthrough came when legendary director Penny Marshall selected Soul Tempo to appear in the major motion picture The Preacher's Wife, starring Whitney Houston and Denzel Washington. That opportunity introduced the group's ministry to audiences across the country and became the beginning of an extraordinary journey.

Since then, Soul Tempo has continued to inspire audiences with music that transcends generations—bringing timeless harmonies, authentic worship, and heartfelt storytelling to every stage they grace.
